  The question is always asked "Is the figurative tradition in painting and sculpture alive and well?" In the work of Eduardo da Rosa the answer is a resounding and powerful yes. His gestural works often large in scale take human experience through a virtual ballet of movement and expressive action. His works are allegorical with scattered symbolism but always embodying the figurative experience as the central imagery. To say his paintings are charged with emotion is certainly true but it is more important to read the depth and power of the emotion through its unfolding pictorial story.
